Features of NordicTrack T 9.5 S The NordicTrack T 9.5 S features a sound system and workout fan. The sound system includes two 2 digitally amplified speakers located under the LCD display. Users can sync the sound system with their smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and enjoy the entertainment. There is an Auto Breeze fan provided on the machine integrated under the speakers. It has multiple speeds and provides a nice cooling effect. Plus there is an accessory tray under the console in the stability bar. This is useful to store keys, remote, wallet etc. Space Saver Design The NordicTrack T 9.5 S features a space-saving design and is very easy to fold up thanks to the Easy Lift Assist. Once the deck is lifted high enough, it will lock into place automatically. Releasing the lock is equally easy; users just have to push up a little as they press the release latch and set back. The deck will descend on its own; it won't thump down. Motor The motor of NordicTrack T 9.5 S is a 3.6 CHP DurXTM Commercial Plus motor. It sports a small flywheel to reduce vibration and its own cooling system. Therefore, even if users are close to the indicated 300 lbs. weight capacity, the machine would definitely not overheat or lose performance for the entire session of workout. Speed Range The motor of T 9.5 S provides a speed range from 0.5 to 12 MPH. Quick speed controls from 0 to 12 have been provided on the console and gradual speed controls are provided on the bottom keypad. The arrows for the gradual speed adjustment are bi-functional, i.e. if pressed once, they will adjust speed by 0.1 MPH, while if pressed and held down, they will adjust speed in increments of 0.5 MPH. Size and Weight The NordicTrack T 9.5 S is pretty large. When fully assembled, it's around 79 long and 35.5 wide. Plus, it's recommended that a clearance of at least two feet should be left on each of its sides and at least of two feet on the rear of the deck for an easy access and operation. All in all, the T 9.5 S may not be the best option for a small room or apartment. Users should also keep in mind that T 9.5 S is a quite heavy machine. When fully assembled its weight is more than 200 lbs. (90.7 kg). However, this weight offers it a great stability and users can rest assured that even if they run on the machine at a high speed, the machine won't move or rock. To protect the floors, when position the treadmill on the permanent location (highly recommended), place the unit on the good treadmill mat. Console The console of the NordicTrack T 9.5 S is more advanced than that of the older T 6.5 S model. The first upgrade is its large 14 diagonal LCD full-color screen, with LED backlight and touchscreen technology. It responds to commands just like a smartphone or tablet. However, apps can't be installed on it neither it offers internet browsing. It can just stream videos through iFit. The machine has its own 50 preset workout programs and the console tracks all the important workout metrics like time, speed, distance, incline, pulse and calories burned. The default unit for speed and distance are imperial, but metric units can be selected. Heart Rate Monitoring For heart rate monitoring, there are only EKG grip pulse handlebars. Users can use a wireless HR chest strap. However, this accessory is not included. Workout Programs Although there is iFit membership offered with the T 9.5 S, if a user doesn't want to use it, they can still have the own database of workout programs of the machine. The machine offers 50 preset programs that offer almost all kinds of workouts including high-intensity cardio, weight loss, stamina development, intervals and many more. Incline The T 9.5 S features an automatic (motorized) incline system. The system is made of a small motor and a lever system located in front of the deck. As users select a particular incline level, the levers will elevate the front part of the deck, thereby changing the slope of the running surface. However, there are no decline settings. The incline range of the machine is 0%-12% with increments of 1%. Just as in the case of speed controls, there are quick incline selection keys provided on the console and gradual incline adjustment controls on the lower keypad too. Plus, some of the onboard programs and also the workouts from iFit will adjust the incline automatically, according to their setup. Step-up Height Step-up height of the deck of T 9.5 S is around 11 (28 cm). In addition, with the incline fully set up, the front part of the deck will be lifted by a few more inches. Hence it's advisable to place the machine in a room that has a ceiling at least 20 (51 cm) higher than users' own height.
